Causes of BSvcProcessor has stopped working error

If you encounter the “BSvcProcessor” error, then from this article you will learn two ways to solve the problem: troubleshooting the Bing Bar operation or getting rid of a virus attack on your computer.

Reason 1: Bing Bar malfunction

A window with such an inscription can be displayed if a Bing Bar is installed on the computer, a special utility from Microsoft that is a toolbar for the browser from Microsoft and provides quick access to individual services of the company (for example, the Bing search service).

You can easily check if this application is installed on the computer. To do this, go to the root folder “Microsoft” and find there a folder called “BingSvc”. The example of Windows 8.1 will show how to do this.

Step 1: You need to find the Explorer icon on the taskbar and click on it. A window opens in which you should pay attention to the left panel, which provides quick access to all the necessary folders, located on the side.

Step 2: Then you need to find your system disk in the list of folders and click on it. For example, here the system disk is Windows (C:).

Step 3: In the window that opens, click on the “Users” item.

Step 4: Select the name under which the user is recorded on the computer, for example, Ivan Ivanov or any nickname.

Step 5: In the list that opens, find the hidden folder named “AppData”. If the computer does not show hidden folders, you must enable it. To do this, go to the “View” tab and tick “Hidden elements”.

Step 6: Open the hidden folder “AppData”.

Step 7: In the folder “AppData” there is a folder “Local”, in which, in turn, there should be a folder with the name “Microsoft”.

Step 8: Open the folder “Microsoft“.

Step 9: In this folder, there should be a Bing Bar. It is stored in a folder called “BingSvc”.

If this folder is found on the computer, then this is the cause of the annoying failure. It often occurs due to the fact that any updates to the system or installed programs can conflict with the Bing Bar, causing the collapse of the latter.

The solution of the Bing Bar failure

If a Microsoft Bing Bar is installed on your PC, you can cope with the error as follows:

Step 1: Start the Task Manager. To do this, press CRTL + Shift + Esc on the keyboard.

Step 2: Find the process called BingSvc.exe. The process can have a different name, the main thing is that the title should mention the Bing Bar.

Step 3: Click the “End task” button.

After all the tasks related to BingSvc were removed, you need to go to the control panel, and then find all the programs that are somehow related to the Bing Bar or the Bing browser. All that is found must be uninstalled. After all the manipulations are done, restart the system.

After removing the program, it is not superfluous to clean the registry of errors. To do this in the most secure way, it is recommended to use the CCleaner program. The program can be downloaded from the official site. A free version with incomplete functionality is available for download, but it is quite possible to clean the registry of errors.
